FREE GUIDE FOR HR MANAGERS

Make the case for better workplace training

Use one pilot course to show leaders what employees can do, where they still need help and what you’ll do with the results.

1. Pick one workplace decision to improve

Start with a required topic where a wrong decision has a clear consequence. For data protection, you might ask employees to recognise when a misdirected email needs to be reported and choose the right route. Agree the expected action with the policy owner before the pilot.

2. Define what you’ll measure

Agree the reporting date and the measures with your sponsor before launch. Include the count behind each percentage so a small pilot is easy to interpret.

3. Give managers a next step

Use the report to agree who needs a retry and what guidance a manager should reinforce in their next team briefing. If several people miss the same step, check whether the policy or process itself is unclear.

4. Write the budget request

We’re asking for [budget] to run [course] with [group] by [date]. We’ll review completion, first-attempt passes and the most common decision gap with [sponsor]. We’ll use the findings to agree follow-up with managers and decide whether to roll it out more widely.
